Cook 4 servings of wild rice according to the package instructions. It takes a long time (like an hour), so get it started first.
Cut up sausage and onion into bite-size pieces.
Saute in a skillet with butter.
Splash a little beer in the bottom and deglaze the bottom of the pan. Once it starts to boil, pull out the sausage and onion.
Toss in the shrimp and add the rest of the beer. Add Old Bay.
Return shrimp and onions to pan.
Serve over rice.
